Apple today announced the expansion of its satellite features into six new markets, which now makes the service available in twelve countries.
The expansion, which was announced as part of the new yellow iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus color reveal, will bring the Emergency SOS via satellite and Find My via satellite features to Austria, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Portugal later this month.
Previously, both Emergency SOS via satellite and Find My via satellite were available in the UK, US, Canada, France, Germany, and Ireland. This functionality, which has been proven to work in several real-life scenarios, was announced in September 2022 during the iPhone 14 event.

Satellite access is a free service for two years, which starts when an iPhone 14 device is activated. We are unsure at this time how much Apple is planning to charge for access to satellite communication for Emergency SOS and Find My.
To access the satellites on iPhone, you need an iPhone 14 device or iPhone 14 Pro device with iOS 16.1 or later. You also have to be somewhere with no cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Emergency SOS via satellite allows a user to text emergency services when there is no coverage, allowing for help in more remote locations. You can also share your location with people using Find My via satellite.
