Apple would attempt to unify lower-end and high-end iPhone models

Quick Hits
  • All iPhone 15 models will include Dynamic Island, according to the leak
  • Three of the four iPhone display panels are shown in the video
  • iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 'Ultra' Display Panel shows a further reduction in bezel size

A leaked video has shown front glass panels purportedly for the upcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models, showing thinner bezels and the expansion of Dynamic Island to all models of the upcoming iPhone lineup in an attempt to unify lower-end and high-end iPhone models.

In a video originally posted on Weibo and then shared on Twitter by leaker ShrimpApplePro, three of the allegedly four iPhone 15 display panels are shown, with two 6.1-inch panels for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, and one 6.7-inch front glass panel, although it is expected that there will be two 6.7-inch iPhone models this year, the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 ‘Ultra’. These panels have also been shown in a video by @alpha856697 on Twitter.

These panels show that Dynamic Island is coming to all new models of iPhone 15. Dynamic Island is currently exclusive to just the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which brings system alerts, notifications, calls, and more to the top of the iPhone’s display, a space previously occupied by the static notch.

The video also reveals significantly thinner bezels for the upcoming high-end iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 ‘Ultra’ compared to their predecessors, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to feature the same sized bezels as the previous iPhone 14 series. It is also rumored that the iPhone 15 series will have a subtle curved edge on the front and back of the device, somewhere between the current flat, squared design, and the rounded edges last seen on the flagship iPhone 11 series, and the current iPhone SE (2022), based on the design of the almost six-year-old iPhone 8.

The iPhone 15 lineup is expected also to switch to a USB-C Port, a first on an iPhone, with faster speeds reserved for the higher-end models. Also rumored for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 ‘Ultra’ is a new titanium frame and Solid-State buttons.
