In a blog post from Microsoft, the company explains to Windows Insiders, Microsoft’s beta testing feature for Windows, how to set up Phone Link with an iPhone. This feature is set to be released in a future update to the Windows 11 operating system, allowing access to features previously only available to Android users.

As this is not an official Apple product though, there are some limitations in place, which could make using Phone Link slightly tedious for some users. At this time, phone calls, SMS and iMessages, contacts and notifications are supported within the Windows 11 preview. The set up is similar to using non-Apple smartwatches on iOS, with the feature working over a Bluetooth connection from the iPhone to the PC. To use, the iPhone will need to be connected to a Windows 11 PC, connected via Bluetooth, and given access to certain permissions to make this work.
