- Beats Studio Buds+ were found in the latest iOS 16.4 beta
- The design is mostly unchanged, other than a new color
- The new Buds are expected to be released soon
Beats are gearing up to launch an updated version of its fully wireless Studio Buds, the Beats Studio Buds+, as discovered by 9to5Mac in the latest iOS 16.4 beta.
Insiders report that the upcoming earbuds, code-named 8214, will feature improved active noise cancellation and transparency mode compared to the original Studio Buds. Like the previous Studio Buds, Beats Studio Buds+ will not have an Apple audio chip like their AirPods counterpart, meaning the Beats Studio Buds+ will not offer automatic device switching between Apple devices or pairing over iCloud.
The design is mostly unchanged compared to the original Beats Studio Buds, which were introduced in 2021, apart from the black and gold colorway leaked by 9to5Mac. The animation for the Beats Studio Buds+ has also been released on Twitter by iSoftware Updates.

There is no release date for the Beats Studio Buds+, but since the product details are already present in iOS, they are expected to arrive soon. The current Beats Studio Buds start at $149, and we are unsure whether the improved features will increase the price or if the new Beats Studio Buds+ will replace the existing model.
The Beats Studio Buds+ are intended to appeal to iOS and Android customers, which explains the lack of Apple’s proprietary chip.
