Apple TV+ has been awarded a record 15 BAFTA nominations across five shows

Apple’s video streaming service Apple TV+ today secured 15 nominations spanning five Apple Original programs.

The widely-renowned titles up for nomination include drama TV shows “Bad Sisters”, “Essex Serpent”, “Blackbird”, “Packinko”, and the thriller series “Slow Horses”. Here is a closer look at the nominations for each title:

“Bad Sisters”

According to Apple, Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have received more than 348 wins and 1,436 award nominations thus far including the multi-Emmy Award-winning comedy “Ted Lasso,” and the iconic Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.” starring Troy Kotsur, who made history as the first deaf male actor to receive an Oscar, winning the award for “best actor in a supporting role”.

The BAFTA Craft Awards will take place on BBC One airing Sunday, April 23, and the BAFTA TV Awards ceremony will debut on the same network airing on Sunday, May 14.

Apple TV+ originally launched back in November 2019, and has since received worldwide acclaim among reviewers and critics for its original content despite it relatively small library of titles compared to competing streaming services.

Apple TV+ starts at $6.99/month requiring an iPhone‌, ‌iPad‌, or iPod touch running iOS 13 or iPadOS 13 or later, a Mac running macOS Catalina or later,  ‌an Apple TV 3rd Generation running the latest software, or an Apple TV‌ 4K or ‌Apple TV‌ HD running tvOS 13 or later.
