App Store and Fitness+ experienced intermittent issues

The App Store and now Fitness+ services experienced minor performance issues affecting a small subset of users during the day. Apple’s System Status page was updated several times to reflect the ongoing interruptions.

Intermittent issues with the App Store began at 8:40 AM PDT. The issues were briefly resolved at 10:00 AM PDT. However, a few minutes later, the App Store experienced problems again. This time, the Fitness+ service also showed performance issues.

The issue with the App Store and Fitness+ service persisted for most of the day. Apple’s System Status site turned green, indicating that both services became fully available and operational, at around 13:30 PM PDT.

The App Store is a core functionality of all Apple mobile devices and one of the company’s most essential services. It currently hosts over 1.76 million apps, with almost 500,000 being games. The App Store represents a significant source of revenue for both Apple and developers. In 2022, the Cupertino-based company paid $320 billion to developers and grossed $85 million during the same period.
