5 movies, an app created by ChatGPT, is already available in the App Store

ChatGPT, the acclaimed and controversial artificial intelligence tool, now has a new facet: it is capable of creating applications.

5 Movies, an application created from scratch by ChatGPT, is now available on the App Store. The descriptions and even the code were created by the AI tool, according to Morten Just, the person who asked ChatGPT to make this app.

“The first version took five minutes,” Just said on Twitter, where he documented the step-by-step process of creating the app. ChatGPT even highlighted the benefits of the app and created texts to promote it. The Midjourney tool participated in the icon and some illustrations that can be seen on the App Store, according to Just.

ChatGPT was able to create the first version of the application, receive feedback from Just, and adjust the code to correct errors highlighted by Xcode, as well as the modifications suggested by Just. According to Cult of Mac, which was able to speak with the (human) developer, only between 2% and 5% of the code was written by Just.

The application was initially rejected by Apple, not due to its artificial creator, but because of “fair reasons”, said Just. It ultimately made it to the App Store on March 23, according to the site.

ChatGPT acknowledged that it cannot feel curiosity, but requested its co-worker to be informed about the feedback from the 5 Movies users.

Although the creation of this application seems to challenge an established profession once again, it may actually present a better future for humanity. “I don’t think humans don’t get enough credit these days for always raising the bar,” Just said on Twitter. “When one thing gets easy, we don’t get lazy, we just look for the next thing that is hard to do.”
