India's second retail store is in the country's capital.

Apple has officially opened Apple Saket in New Delhi, the capital’s first official retail store and the country’s second. Apple CEO Tim Cook, and Apple SVP of Retail Deirdre O’Brien, opened the doors to the store to much fanfare.

Apple Saket is located in the Select Citywalk Mall in Saket, New Delhi. The mall is home to several businesses, including offices, service apartments, a multiplex, and luxurious lifestyle brands. The uniquely curved storefront features white doors and a feature wall manufactured in India.

Apple Saket has a unique Apple Pickup area for their order online and in-store pick-up facility. The store also offers Trade-in, specialized help for business teams, and a Genius Bar for expert service.

Today at Apple sessions at Apple Saket will also be available, starting with “Skills for iPad and Mac” and “Photography on iPhone,” allowing customers to explore Apple products with experts. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail, Deirdre O’Brien, had the following to say about the new retail location:

“We’re thrilled to bring the best of Apple to our customers in Delhi with the opening of our second store in India, Apple Saket. Our incredible team members look forward to connecting with the local community and helping them find new ways to pursue their passions and unleash their creativity through our amazing products and services.”

Like the Apple BKC store in Mumbai, Apple Saket also runs entirely on renewable energy and remains carbon neutral, further emphasizing Apple’s commitment to the environment. Opening only one day after Apple BKC, the opening of the new store solidifies Apple’s push into the Indian market.

There are 70 employees from 18 Indian states, speaking a total of 15 languages to inclusively assist all customers who walk through the door. Mumbai and New Delhi are two regions in the country that are frequently visited by people from all over the country, something Apple considered by employing a multilingual and diverse staff at both locations.

Apple’s expansion into India is a sign of the company’s confidence in the Indian market both from a retail and manufacturing standpoint. The country is the second-largest smartphone market in the world, and it is growing rapidly. Apple is hoping to capture a larger share of this market by increasing its presence in India.
