Apple today officially announced its rumored and heavily leaked Beats Studio Buds + earbuds featuring a transparent design, improved Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and more at $169.99.
The Studio Buds + is the latest addition to Apple’s Beats family, featuring a design that largely resembles the trendy Nothing Ear (2) earbuds. The Studio Buds + transparent design gives a unique look into the internals of the individual earbuds and the charging case.
The earbuds feature an IPX4 rating for water resistance and come with four soft ear tip sizes ranging from extra small, small, medium, and large, to better fit most ears. The Studio Buds + features a design footprint largely similar to the original Studio Buds released in May of last year, which features a compact charging case and in-ear earphones with no stem like the AirPods and AirPods Pro.

Compared to the orginal Studio Buds, the Studio Buds+ features up to 1.6x improved Active Noise Cancelation and double the performance of Transparency mode thanks to a larger microphone. The Studio Buds + features a custom Beats-designed chip that helps power such as Active Noise Cancellation, longer battery life, and audio quality. Apple is advertising Studio Buds + with up to 36 hours of total listening time, an additional 12 hours from the original earbuds.
Last month, an Amazon listing revealed details and specifications over the Studio Buds + weeks before their official debut. The earbuds were also prematurely shown in a slide shown during Google’s annual I/O conference this month. The earbuds began appearing in stores earlier this week.
The Studio Buds + is available for order today on both Apple’s online store in addition to the online Beats storefront and in retail locations priced at $169.99 in Black and Ivory color options.
Correction: An earlier version of the article mistakenly stated the Studio Buds + features Apple’s H2 chip. The earbuds feature a custom Beats-designed chip, not Apple’s H2 chip.
