Apple today began releasing iOS 16.6 beta 2 to registered developers a week after seeding the first beta for the upcoming update to iOS 16. A public version of this beta is expected sometime this week.
iOS 16.6 is widely expected to be the last version of iOS 16 as Apple ramps up the development of iOS 17 ahead of its preview at WWDC 2023, happening less than a week from today spanning June 5 to June 9.
With iOS 16.4, Apple introduced a new method for developers to install betas. Instead of a beta profile, developers must sign in on their testing devices using an Apple ID associated with their Apple Developer Program account. Once signed in, new betas will show up under Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
