Apple today updated its Beta Software Program website as the company gears up to release the first public beta builds for the upcoming major software releases that were announced at WWDC 2023.

The changes were first noticed by content creator Aaron Zollo, who took to Twitter to share his discovery. Apple Beta Software Program website first went down momentarily for updates. While no discernable changes appear on the website, it is likely that Apple made some server-side changes in preparation for the first public betas of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14 Sonoma, watchOS 10, and tvOS 17.

Users are able to sign up to receive the public betas of iOS 17 and more on their devices via the Beta Software Program website, which states that new public betas are “coming soon” without providing a concrete release date.

iOS 17 public beta release date

Apple typically releases the first public betas of major software releases following WWDC during the second week of July. Last year, the first public beta of iOS 16 was made available on Monday, July 11, which came a few days after the release of the third iOS 16 developer beta.

We should now be a few days away from the release of iOS 17 developer beta 3 as the second beta was released nearly two weeks ago on Wednesday, June 21. Coupled with today’s public beta website update, it is all but confirmed that the first public beta of iOS 17 and other major software releases from Apple should be available soon.
