Apple today began releasing the sixth beta of watchOS 10 to registered developers with build number 21R5341c. The new watchOS 10 beta comes nearly one week after the company seeded the fifth developer beta of the upcoming Apple Watch software update. Apple today also released new betas for iOS 17 and macOS Sonoma.
watchOS 10 represents the biggest software update for the Apple Watch since it first launched in 2015. The tentpole release is packed with new features, including new widgets with Smart Stack, redesigned first-party apps with full-screen designs, enhanced Home Screen layout with a tighter grid, and the expected improvement to health and fitness tracking features.

How to download watchOS 10
With watchOS 9.5 released in April, Apple introduced a new method to install developer betas. Now, devices enrolled with a linked Apple Developer Program account or those who signed up with their Apple ID on Apple Developer will see a new menu within the Apple Watch app on iPhone. A watchOS-specific configuration profile must first be downloaded from Apple Developer’s website before navigating to General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates in the Apple Watch app to download and install any new watchOS 10 beta.
Devices that aren’t enrolled and linked to an Apple Developer account won’t see the menu and therefore aren’t able to install the upcoming versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS before their public debut.
In June, it was revealed that Apple changed how to get access to developer betas. Previously, only those who enrolled as part of the Apple Developer Program were able to get their hands on developer betas after paying a $99 annual program fee. The changes made last week mean anyone who signs up on the Apple Developer website also gets access to developer betas. Signing into the Apple Developer website without enrolling in the Developer Program is free, effectively opening up developer betas access to everyone.
watchOS 10 Public Beta
Apple also does a public beta program, which is free and open to anyone who wishes to join. Apple released the third public beta of watchOS 10 last week alongside public betas for iOS 17 and macOS 14 Sonoma. The fourth watchOS 10 public beta should be made available a few days from today and will likely carry the same build number as today’s developer beta.
