Apple announces Apple Watch Ultra 2 with faster S9 processor and 3000-nit display

Apple today announced the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra during its “Wonderlust” event. Dubbed Apple Watch Ultra 2, the new premium smartwatch offers a few key improvements compared to the prior model, including a faster S9 processor with U2 chip, more accurate health sensors, and a new black finish for the watch’s titanium casing.

Like the Series 9, Ultra 2 packs the new S9 processor with support for the new Double Tap gesture and on-device Siri. Ultra 2 also packs a much brighter display at 3000 nits of peak brightness. Ultra 2 features the same 36-hour battery life.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available to order today, with shipping to begin on September 22.
