Apple is unlikely to release any new iPad models for the remainder of 2023, according to esteemed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo shared his latest prediction in a new post on X, a few hours ahead of the company’s “Wonderlust” iPhone 15 event. No iPads were expected to be announced during the event, and Kuo’s post is another confirmation that Apple will update some of its tablets at a later date, presumably now in early 2024.
A refreshed iPad Air was rumored to launch sometime this year, presumably at a press release or a dedicated Apple event held in October. Kuo’s post refutes these rumors as Apple might not release a single new iPad model this year.
The latest iPad that Apple released was the 10th-generation base model, which the company updated with a modern home button-less design, support for the second-generation Apple Pencil, and the A14 Bionic chip in October 2022.
All-new iPad Pro in 2024
In the meantime, the company’s flagship iPad Pro upgrade is still rumored to launch in 2024. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman earlier reported that the next iPad Pro will represent a significant upgrade for the premium tablet complete with the yet-to-be-announced M3 chip, overhauled design, and OLED displays for the first time on an iPad.
