Apple just released the second beta of iOS 17.3 alongside other beta releases across the board, but the update is apparently resulting in bricked iPhones during the installation process.

First spotted by 9to5Mac, iPhones attempting to install the new iOS 17.3 beta are getting stuck in a boot loop, which can only be fixed by a complete restore to the last public release of iPhone software, iOS 17.2.1. One of our staff members at Supercharged has bricked their iPhone 15 Pro Max, requiring a full restore to make their device operable again.

Many people on X, Reddit, and elsewhere are reporting the issue, while others claim that they were able to successfully update their iPhones to iOS 17.3 beta 2 without a hitch.

The issue seems to be affecting all iPhone models, including the latest iPhone 15 lineup. In the meantime, users should hold off updating their devices to iOS 17.3 beta 2 until Apple either offers an explanation as to what is happening or pulls the culprit beta build altogether.
