Apple plans to expand the availability of Vision Pro beyond the United States before WWDC 2024 in June, according to a new analysis shared by the reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo shared his predictions in a new Medium post where he stated that Apple is planning an expansive update to visionOS with a focus on developers in WWDC 2024. As part of its push to attract developers, the company hopes to launch Vision Pro in more international markets before June. If Apple can pull off this move, it would greatly promote the “global development ecosystem of visionOS,” Kuo adds.

The analyst also shared more reasoning behind Apple’s decision to limit its headset’s release to the United States. The company is still grappling with the limited supply of Vision Pro as covered earlier. In addition, Apple is looking to ensure a smooth launch for its first spatial computer by focusing on a single market first. Finally, the company still needs to adjust certain segments of Vision Pro’s algorithms to ensure that it complies with regulations in other countries.

Earlier reports pegged China, Canada, and the United Kingdom as serious candidates for the first countries to receive Vision Pro beyond American soil. Apple has yet to share any details regarding the international availability of its headset, but Kuo’s comments today might suggest that the company’s expanded launch plans are coming sooner rather than later as retail preparations speed up in the US.

Customers will be able to pre-order Vision Pro starting from Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST. Sales will begin two weeks later on Friday, February 2 on Apple.com and all Apple Store locations in the United States.
