The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could come in two new colors as was the case with last year’s iPhone 15 Pro device, according to new information shared on X.
According to leaker Majin Bu, Apple is testing several new colors for the iPhone 16 Pro lineup later this year. However, two finishes in particular seem to be in more advanced testing compared to other options. The leaker claims that Apple is developing a new “Desert Titanium” finish for the iPhone 16 Pro, which is described as a “deeper and heavier” variant of the Natural Titanium color of the iPhone 15 Pro.
The second finish is described as “Cement Gray” or “Titanium Gray,” which appears to be reminiscent of the Space Gray color of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This color could replace the iPhone 15 Pro’s Blue Titanium finish, which appeared to have suffered poor reception from some consumers, with sporadic reports of being easily scratched and stained.

Apple usually introduces one new finish as the flagship color for every year’s Pro iPhone release. The iPhone 15 Pro saw the introduction of the Blue Titanium and Natural Titanium finishes, replacing the Deep Purple and Gold of the iPhone 14 Pro.
- iPhone 15 Pro: Natural Titanium, Blue Titanium
- iPhone 14 Pro: Deep Purple
- iPhone 13 Pro: Sierra Blue, Alpine Green
Beyond the expected color refresh, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to mostly maintain the same design as its predecessors. This is in contrast to the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus devices, which are rumored to feature a new pill-shaped camera bump design.
One important design change for the iPhone 16 lineup is said to be the addition of a new Capture button with support for touch and force gestures for camera control, including adjusting zoom and manual focus. The high-end iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max could gain a new Qualcomm modem with support for 5G-Advanced, and a 48-megapixel Ultrawide camera sensor.
