Apple is strongly rumored to announce an all-new iPad Pro lineup with an OLED display alongside a larger addition to the iPad Air, and a new report from 9to5Mac reveals the expected dimensions of the new iPad devices.
According to the report, the OLED iPad Pro will feature a noticeable thinner chassis for both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes. The thinner design is thought to be thanks to the new OLED display, with OLED panels typically being thinner than their LCD and miniLED counterparts. Both iPad Pro sizes will also feature slightly larger length and width dimensions.
The new dimensions are as follows for the smaller 11-inch model:

- Current 11-inch iPad Pro – 247.6mm x 178.5mm x 5.9 mm
- Expected 11-inch iPad Pro – 249.7mm x 177.5mm x 5.1mm
The larger 12.9-inch model will be even thinner, shedding as much as 1.4mm:
- Current 12.9-inch iPad Pro – 280.6mm x 214.9mm x 6.4mm
- Expected 12.9-inch iPad Pro – 281.5mm x 215.5mm x 5.0mm
9to5Mac reports that the 12.9-inch iPad Air will carry the exact dimensions as the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro. This larger iPad Air is likely to maintain the same external design as its smaller counterpart with slight changes to the camera housing shape if recently leaked CAD drawings are to be believed.
The overhauled iPad Pro lineup will feature an OLED display for the first time in the tablet’s history and will come with other features like the M3 chip, and a potential landscape orientation for the TrueDepth camera system including Face ID and the front-facing camera. Apple is also working on updated accessories like a new Apple Pencil with support for the Find My network and a new Magic Keyboard that would make the iPad look more laptop-like when docked.
The current iPad Air will likely receive the M2 chip and will be joined with the larger 12.9-inch model as the largest iPad Air size yet. The new iPad Air models will continue to use LCD panels. The much-anticipated devices are expected to be revealed as soon as March, with mass production reportedly underway.
