Occasional leaker ShrimpApplePro has shared new details about the upcoming sixth-generation iPad Air today, including information that changes to the upcoming model are minor and are not expected to face any major design changes.
According to the leaker, one of the few design changes will be a landscape front-facing camera as seen on the tenth-generation iPad coming to the iPad Air. The leaker has also said they have not seen any evidence of a larger screen-sized 12.9-inch model in testing, contradicting previous CAD leaks suggesting that Apple could be working on a larger screen variant of the iPad Air. The existence of a larger iPad Air would have meant customers who prefer a larger iPad would no longer need to opt for the thicker, heavier, and more pricey 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
The iPad Air was given a minor spec bump at Apple’s March event back in 2022, with the most notable change being the upgrade from an M1 to an M2 chip. The iPad Air is one of several iPad models Apple is looking to update soon, with all eyes on the imminent launch of updated 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with OLED displays.
