The iOS 18 Control Center could be one of the biggest UI changes of the update as Apple is working on a redesign with support for a customizable layout, according to new information obtained by MacRumors.

Per the report, Apple has reportedly tested a “drag-and-drop” layout for the iOS 18 Control Center that would allow users to move around some toggles as desired. With this change, users would be able to move around settings directly from the Control Center rather than being forced to rearrange options through the Settings app as is currently possible with iOS 17 and prior iOS releases.

The report describes the planned changes to the iOS 18 Control Center as the biggest change to the interface since its last redesign with iOS 11 and the iPhone X. Throughout the years, Apple has made minor changes to the Control Center to accommodate some options, such as the addition of HomeKit controls and a Mute toggle for the iPhone 15 Pro and the Action button. However, the planned redesign for iOS 18 seems to be much bigger in scope.

Multiple sources now agree that the iOS 18 Control Center will receive a facelift that will be revealed for the first time at WWDC 2024 on Monday, June 10. Other rumored changes include an overhaul for music and media playback controls and controls for HomeKit accessories.
