Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI features coming to iOS 18 and other platforms, could begin arriving to developers after the summer in a later timeframe than what Apple originally announced.
At WWDC 2024, Apple stated that Apple Intelligence is poised to appear in a later iOS 18 beta sometime during the summer. However, a recent update to the Apple Developer website now signals that Apple Intelligence could begin making its way to developers later than anticipated.
Until recently, a section from a page on Apple Developer stated that “Apple Intelligence will be available in an upcoming beta this summer.” Sometime over the weekend, Apple updated this phrase to now say that “Apple Intelligence will be available in an upcoming beta,” indicating that Apple is still facing hurdles with its AI features and won’t be available to developers until closer to the public launch of iOS 18.

Apple Intelligence will still be labeled as a beta when iOS 18 launches to consumers in September. Several Apple Intelligence features, like the full capabilities of the LLM-powered Siri, are not expected to launch until 2025, likely as part of iOS 18.3 or later.
Apple Intelligence is the company’s suite of AI features coming to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. It enables a wide range of AI capabilities on the latest iPhone 15 Pro and M-series iPads and Macs, including Writing Tools for writing assistance and summarisation, Image Playground for generating images and custom emojis, all-new Siri, and much more.
