Most of the Apple Intelligence features for Siri that Apple unveiled at WWDC 2024 are not scheduled to be released publicly until spring 2025 at the earliest, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.

In the latest edition of the weekly Power On newsletter, it is said that most of the new capabilities of the Apple Intelligence-powered Siri won’t be available for developers to test until January 2025 as part of a future iOS 18 beta. Apple’s current plan calls for the new digital assistant to launch for consumers several months later in the spring, likely by the iOS 18.4 update.

Apple Intelligence is set to give Siri a long-overdue makeover, allowing Apple’s virtual assistance to be smarter and more contextually aware. Some of these features, like on-screen awareness and precise app controls, will be released several months after iOS 18 first launches to the public in September. However, iOS 18 users will still get a taste of the new Siri this year, as the report adds that the new user interface and ChatGPT integration are on track to be available later this year.

In addition to the revamped Siri, Apple Intelligence is poised to enable new features on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, like Writing Tools for text summarization and generation, Smart Reply in apps like Messages and Mail, prioritizing notifications, and Image Playground for generating custom images and emojis.
