Apple Intelligence could allow users to create custom artworks for Apple Music playlists on iOS 18, according to hidden code discovered by 9to5Mac.
The code, present in the latest iOS 18 beta 4, hints that Apple is preparing a new “Create Image” button when editing a playlist on Apple Music. Through this button, users will generate unique artwork for their Apple Music playlists through Image Playground, the Apple Intelligence feature with diffusion models that allows the creation of Genmojis and other generated images through iOS 18. Apple Music will likely ask the user for their preferences on the playlist artwork and then generate a few options for them to choose from.
As revealed during WWDC 2024, Image Playground will be a dedicated app that will allow users to create custom images in three different styles based on prompts and text input. 9to5Mac adds that the custom playlist artworks feature remains under development, and it’s so far unclear when the feature will be available.

It’s important to note that the feature in question wasn’t publicly discussed at all by Apple during the WWDC keynote and subsequent developer sessions, suggesting that the feature is in early work or that a final decision to release it to users hasn’t been made. Nevertheless, Apple Intelligence features are yet to appear on any iOS 18 beta, including the most recent fourth beta build released earlier this week.
