Apple’s online store has gone down ahead of its “It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 event, scheduled to kick off at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time later today from Cupertino, California.
The online store usually goes down before the company’s special events and had similarly gone down before the WWDC 2024 keynote in early June and in May before the “Let Loose” iPad event.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 lineup at “It’s Glowtime,” including the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The base iPhone 16 models are rumored to gain a new camera design with vertically oriented lenses, the A18 chip, the Action button, and new colors. The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature taller 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, the A18 Pro chip, a new 48-megapixel Ultrawide camera sensor, and a new gold-like finish.

All iPhone 16 models are expected to feature a new “Capture button,” which will be used to control camera settings like zoom, focus, and triggering the shutter without touching the display. Apple Intelligence will be supported on all iPhone 16 models which are all said to feature 8GB of RAM.
Apple is also preparing two new AirPods 4 models, with a high-end variant featuring Active Noise Cancellation and an improved charging case. A new hearing aid mode could be heading to AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods Max could receive new colors and a switch to a USB-C port.
“It’s Glowtime” is also expected to unveil several new Apple Watch models, including Series 10, Ultra 3, and a revamped SE which could be made out of plastic. Apple Watch Series 10 will gain a dramatically thinner design, with new health sensors and sleep apnea detection.
