Apple Pay will now offer integration with Klarna’s Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) service directly with iOS 18. Integration with Affirm has gone live for a while, and Klarna has today confirmed its tie-in with Apple Pay.
Beginning today, Klarna will offer its BNPL services for iPhone and iPad users running iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 through Apple Pay checkouts in apps and online. The service will be available for Apple users in the United States and the United Kingdom, with a planned expansion to Canada in the coming months.
Klarna allows users to split up payments between $35 and $2,000 over three or four installments with no interest. Longer payments are also available for higher ticket items where applicable starting at an APR of 0 percent.

We’re excited to give users in the U.S. and U.K. more choice in how they pay with the addition of Klarna’s flexible payment options right at checkout on Apple Pay,” said Jennifer Bailey, Apple’s vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet. “With this rollout, users have the option to pay for purchases over time, and they get to enjoy the seamless and secure experience of Apple Pay that they already know and love.
Eligible users can choose “Other Cards & Pay Later Options” at checkout when using Apple Pay on an iPhone or iPad. They can then select Klarna to see the available Klarna payment options. After agreeing to the terms, users can confirm their purchase by double-clicking the side button and authenticating with Face ID or Touch ID. Before final approval, Klarna will perform a new lending review with its proprietary underwriting checks, which will not affect the customer’s credit score.
Apple Pay’s integration with Klarna and Affirm comes after the Cupertino company hastily discontinued its Apple Pay Later service in June less than a year after introducing it in October 2023. To make up for the discontinuation Apple announced that third-party BNPL services would integrate directly with Apple Pay starting with iOS 18.
