The new iPad mini is compatible with Apple’s suite of professional content creation apps for the iPad, namely Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro, as evident by recent updates to App Store listings (via MacRumors).
Final Cut Pro’s App Store description was recently updated to confirm that the new iPad mini can run the app. While the description does not explicitly mention the iPad mini, it now reads “Requires iPadOS 17.4 or later and a device with an M-series or A17 Pro chip” in a direct reference to Apple’s newest iPad.
This makes the new iPad mini the first iPad without an M-series chip compatible with Final Cut Pro. However, some in-app features remain limited to newer iPad models with the M2 or M4 chip as outlined in the description. Similarly, Logic Pro is guaranteed to run on the new iPad mini, as the app has much more lenient compatibility requirements than Final Cut Pro, supporting iPad models with the A12 Bionic chip and later.

MacRumors also states that Stage Manager, the multitasking interface on iPadOS, does not run on the new iPad mini. Despite the A17 Pro chip being more than capable of running multiple apps simultaneously and side by side, Apple likely refrained from enabling Stage Manager on the new iPad mini owing to its small 8.3-inch display.
