Apple released the first iOS 18.2 beta to registered developers today. iOS 18.2 should enable more Apple Intelligence features after some capabilities are set to launch with the iOS 18.1 update. Apple also released the first beta for iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2.
iOS 18.1 includes some Apple Intelligence features like Writing Tools, Clean Up, Smart Reply, and Notifications Summary. With iOS 18.2, Apple could introduce more features from its AI suite like Image Playground, Genmoji, Siri ChatGPT integration, and the exclusive Visual Intelligence for the iPhone 16 lineup.
iOS 18.2 will also greatly expand Apple Intelligence to more regions thanks to English localization in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa. However, some features, like the all-new Siri with personal context understanding and on-screen awareness, are not scheduled to be available until spring 2025.

How to install iOS 18.2 beta 1
Last year, Apple introduced a new method to install betas. Now, devices enrolled with a linked Apple Developer Program account or those who signed up with their Apple ID on Apple Developer will see a new menu under Settings -> General -> Software Update that allows users to opt into receiving beta updates. Devices that aren’t enrolled and linked to an Apple Developer account won’t see the menu and therefore aren’t able to install any new beta.
We will keep this article updated with any additional changes that we find in iOS 18.2 beta 1 beyond Apple Intelligence, including references to new features or unreleased products.
