The new iMac’s 24-inch display can now be configured with an optional nano-texture glass front display for a drastic reduction in reflections and glare, particularly in sunny environments. A new 12-megapixel Center Stage camera includes support for Desk View, which Apple says can simultaneously show the user and a top-down of desks in one shot.
Connectivity on the new iMac gets massive improvements thanks to the M4 chip. All four USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 connectivity on the 10-core CPU configuration, whereas the 8-core CPU option comes with two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Apple says the M4 iMac can connect up to two 6K external monitors.
The new iMac is a big step forward for environmental sustainability, with 100 percent recycled aluminum in the desktop’s stand and 100 percent recycled gold plating, tin soldering, and copper across multiple printed circuit boards. The iMac’s packaging is now entirely plastic-free and 100 percent fiber-based.
