Apple will soon begin shrinking the demo area designated for the Vision Pro headset in some of its Apple Store locations to make way for the release of the new M4 Mac models, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
In a new post on Threads, Gurman says the change will take effect across some Apple Store locations as a pilot program one day before the M4 Macs hit the market. Right now, most retail stores have two tables dedicated to Vision Pro, one to hold demos and the other for display units. Both tables will be consolidated into one when the effect takes place.
This change should allow for more retail space for the new M4 Macs the company announced last week. The development is coming as Apple is rumored to soon suspend Vision Pro altogether due to underwhelming sales. The company is rumored to sell fewer than 500,000 units of its headset this year, with supply chain partners already producing enough components for up to 600,000 headsets.

Vision Pro is rumored to gain its first hardware update as soon as next year, albeit a minor one. The headset will reportedly be upgraded with the yet-to-be-announced M5 chip, with no other design or hardware changes expected.
