The upcoming M4 MacBook Air is now rumoured to launch before new iPad models and the fourth generation iPhone SE, according to new information shared by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
On a new post on X, Gurman claims that Apple has several product updates planned for early 2025 as has been rumoured for some time. The company is working on a new entry-level iPad, a refreshed iPad Air, the iPhone SE 4, and the M4 MacBook Air. Gurman has now offered a clearer timeline, claiming that the M4 MacBook Air is set to launch first before the rest of the other products.
With this information, the new MacBook Air is now believed to launch between January and February after reportedly entering mass production recently, while the other products could launch later in the spring by March or April. Apple has precedent of launching new Mac products in January such as the MacBook Pro with the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips in January 2023.

The new MacBook Air won’t be the last Mac to receive the M4 chip as Apple plans to upgrade its entire lineup for better Apple Intelligence and general AI support. Later next year and before 2026, the company plans to update the Mac Studio and Mac Pro with the M4 Max and the presumed M4 Ultra, with these chips also rumoured to power new Private Cloud Compute servers for Apple Intelligence.
