The UI is as baffling as ever, practically remaining untouched since iOS received its first and only complete overhaul with iOS 7. The interface offers no less than five buttons with unclear labeling on three of them. The jargon of icons and text thrown at the user makes it difficult to make a quick and correct decision, especially one that could involve a time-sensitive call.
iOS 17 is now halfway through its beta testing cycle, with developer beta 5 likely to be released in a few days. Apple’s current priority with the next major release of iOS is to iron out as many bugs as possible in anticipation of its public release alongside the iPhone 15 which could be less than six weeks away. As such, it’s extremely doubtful that the interface in question is getting redesigned anytime soon, not before iOS 18 at the earliest.
