Apple seemingly halted the development of its electric car project with the vehicle unlikely to be mass-produced in the foreseeable future, according to new information shared by trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a new post on X today, Kuo claims that the project has “lost all visibility” within the company for the time being. Kuo theorizes that Apple will be forced to acquire a traditional automaker if it has any serious aspirations to ship its vehicle soon, warning that Apple Car is unlikely to enter mass production “within the next years” if the company insists on developing its vehicle on its own.
Rumors surrounding the tentatively-named Apple Car – internally dubbed Project Titan – have been few and far this year. Apple might have shifted its focus to continue working on Vision Pro, but even the future of its spatial computer has been put in doubt by Kuo himself.
Apple was originally thought to be working on unveiling its electric vehicle by 2025 or 2026. The more sound predictions would see the company unveil its vehicle by the end of the decade, if ever.
