Apple today began releasing iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 Release Candidate to registered developers. The RC builds come one week after Apple released the third beta of iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1.
Today’s release Release Candidate build is the same build that users around the world will get their hands on once iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1 launch to the public sometime in the next few days. Apple also issued RC builds for watchOS 10.1, macOS Sonoma 14.1, and tvOS 10.1.
With iOS 16.4, Apple introduced a new method for developers to install betas. Instead of a beta profile, developers must sign in on their testing devices using an Apple ID associated with their Apple Developer Program account. Once signed in, new betas will show up under Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
