The new iPad Pro and iPad Air devices feature an expanded Battery Health menu within the Settings app, giving users more information about the battery’s health and cycle count for the first time on the iPad. The new menu matches the one Apple introduced last year across the iPhone 15 lineup (via iCulture).
The new Battery Health menu can be found by navigating Settings > Battery > Battery Health and features information such as the iPad’s battery current cycle count, maximum charging capacity, and more. Like the Battery Health menu on the iPhone 15, the iPad’s menu also reveals the battery’s manufacturing and first-use dates.
The new menu also includes a toggle to limit charging to a capacity of 80 percent as a precaution to improve the battery’s longevity and lifespan. This matches previously uncovered code evidence within iPadOS 17.5 beta 1 that suggested Apple is preparing the expanded Battery Health menu for future iPad models. Just like on the iPhone 15, the menu will likely remain exclusive to the new iPad Pro and iPad Air, alongside any future iPad models.
