Apple Vision Pro 2 is rumored to be based around the company’s next-generation M5 chip which will enable significant new capabilities like Apple Intelligence support for the first time on the headset, reports the reliable Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a new Medium post, Kuo states that Vision Pro 2 is poised to enter mass production by the second half of 2025. While the new headset isn’t expected to feature significant design changes, Kuo says that the main selling point of Vision Pro 2 will be an upgrade to the M5 chip. The unannounced processor, likely to be introduced late next year, will enable new experiences, the most significant of which will be Apple Intelligence.
Kuo says that Apple Intelligence support on Vision Pro 2 could enable more enticing user experiences for spatial computing. The significant Apple silicon upgrade from the M2 chip to the M5 will also allow more features besides Apple Intelligence. Despite the computing power upgrade, Vision Pro 2 is expected to maintain the same outward design and weight as its predecessor, which Kuo says will help Apple lower production costs.

Apple Intelligence is set to be released to the public next month for compatible iPhone, iPad, and Mac models with the upcoming iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 upgrades. In the meantime, Apple has allegedly shifted focus to a lower-end Vision headset to be released before Vision Pro 2, which could launch as soon as next year at a significantly lower price.
