iCloud users have recently been affected by a rare bug that causes synced notes with the Notes app to disappear after accepting Apple’s updated terms and conditions. While the company has publicly remained silent on the issue, it issued a new support document directing users to recover lost iCloud notes (via MacRumors).
The document instructs users how to recover their iCloud notes if they no longer appear on their iPhone, iPad, or Vision Pro devices. The easy-to-follow steps from Apple are as follows:
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap iCloud, then tap Notes.
- Make sure Sync this [device] is on, then check the Notes app.
- If you still don’t see your notes, restart your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro. After restarting, check your settings again.
Apple says iCloud notes should begin to resync and appear again on all devices signed to the same Apple Account. Lost iCloud notes and any other content will reappear once syncing is complete.
