The 2026 MacBook Pro will introduce significant changes to the device in celebration of its 20-year anniversary, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman in the weekly Power On newsletter.
Per the report, Apple is planning a “bigger revamp” for the 2026 MacBook Pro, while smaller changes are expected for the 2025 model to be announced later this year. While the revamp’s details remain unreported, Apple will likely overhaul the 2026 MacBook Pro’s form factor, moving away from current design introduced in 2021.
New features could include an OLED display, a thinner chassis, the M6 chip, and Face ID. 2026 will also represent a big milestone for the MacBook Pro, being the 20-year anniversary since the device’s introduction in May 2006 as part of the Intel transition away from PowerPC.

On the shorter term, this year’s MacBook Pro refresh is expected to bring little more than a chip upgrade to the yet-to-be-announced M5 processor. Apple is also preparing other devices with the M5 like the iPad Pro and Vision Pro 2 for 2026.
