Apple is in the early stage of developing a new tool that would act as a personal coach to further motivate its users to stay in shape. The news is part of a wide-scale health push within the company, according to a new article by Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
The article states the service under work – internally dubbed Quartz – would help users look after their health by motivating them “to exercise, improve eating habits and help them sleep better.” The new service would allegedly pull in data recorded by the Apple Watch in addition to AI to create “coaching programs” personalized for each user, adds the article.
The new coaching service — codenamed Quartz — is designed to keep users motivated to exercise, improve eating habits and help them sleep better, according to people with knowledge of the project. The idea is to use AI and data from an Apple Watch to make suggestions and create coaching programs tailored to specific users

The new service will be subscription-based with a monthly fee akin to its Fitness+ service. It will also be offered in a standalone app much like the Fitness and Health apps. The service is currently planned to launch sometime next year and is being worked on by several groups inside Apple encompassing its health, Siri, AI, and services teams.
