- iOS 16.5 beta 4 comes two weeks after beta 2
Apple began releasing iOS 16.5 beta 4 (Build Number: 20F5059a) to registered developers today. The new beta build comes two weeks after the company released iOS 16.5 beta 3. A public version of this beta is expected sometime this week.
So far, iOS 16.5 has brought on a few minor changes. Siri can now start a screen recording by simply asking, “Start a screen recording.” iOS 16.5 also introduces a refreshed tab layout for the Apple News app, including a new Sports tab to keep up with your favorite teams’ scores and updates.
iOS 16.5 is widely expected to be the last version of iOS 16 as Apple ramps up the development of iOS 17 ahead of WWDC 2023.
Apple also released updates across the following platforms offering similar features:
- iPadOS 16.5 Beta 4
- macOS Ventura 13.4 Beta 4
- watchOS 9.5 Beta 4
- tvOS 16.5 Beta 4
With iOS 16.4, Apple introduced a new method for developers to install betas. Instead of a beta profile, developers are now required to sign in on their testing devices using an Apple ID associated with their Apple Developer Program account. Once signed in, new betas will appear under Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
We will keep this article updated with any additional changes we find in iOS 16.5 beta 4, including references to new features or unreleased products.
