Apple’s upcoming operating system, dubbed realityOS, has been discovered in relation to the anticipated release of the Apple Reality Pro headset this June.

The screenshots show various references to Apple’s new software, suggesting that the Apple Reality Pro headset will likely be released soon, possibly at WWDC 2023 after several delays. It is unknown what to expect from Apple’s entry into virtual reality, but there have been recent leaks of an updated design and even reportedly leaked components for the headset.
Previously, the name of the OS has been up in the air, with realityOS and rOS both being mentioned, and the most recent rumors suggesting the name “xrOS,” although the new leak suggests the name has changed. The Apple Reality Pro is expected to start at around $3,000, with less expensive options being rumored to be released in the next couple of years.
Editor’s Note: Since the publication of this report, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has tweeted that the mentions of realityOS are from “extremely old code that Apple accidentally published to GitHub.” Gurman reiterates that Apple plans to call its upcoming operating system “xrOS.”
