Apple has launched a redesigned shopping experience for the Apple Watch with a more streamlined flow for customers selecting their preferred configuration, size, finish, and Apple Watch band on its online store.
The new experience started rolling out on Tuesday in the United States and other regions with an online Apple Store. The newly redesigned experience more easily guides customers through selecting and configuring their Apple Watch with large contextual images.
Customers can choose their preferred case, case size, connectivity option, and band, all in a redesigned user interface that now matches the online iPhone purchasing experience. Apple has broken down its extensive catalog of Apple Watch bands into four categories: rubber, textiles, leather, and stainless steel.
The new experience is a departure from the previous approach of offering customers a wide selection of pre-configured Apple Watch options, with customers then able to drill in deeper and customize their offerings. On Linkedin, Karen Rasmussen, Apple’s head of online retail, said, “Welcome to our new shopping experience for Apple Watch. Huge amount of work from many teams to make this happen for our customers.”
