Apple employees will get the chance to enjoy a 25 percent discount on Vision Pro’s $3,499 retail price in addition to other incentives, according to a new Bloomberg report.
Apple announced the generous discount in an internal memo distributed companywide on Thursday. With this discount, the company’s employees could get their hands on Vision Pro for just over $2,600 before taxes and other options. In addition, Apple will reimburse workers purchasing the optional ZEISS Optical Inserts, which is priced at $99 for the Readers version and $149 for the Prescription configuration.
The 25 percent Vision Pro discount is considerably less than the earlier 50 percent price cuts the company similarly offered for the Apple Watch and the HomePod when they first came out. Nevertheless, employees will also be able to cash in a $500 credit that Apple issues every three years towards a new Mac for the headset. With the credit, Vision Pro’s price could be as low as $2,100 for a total discount of a cool $1,400.
Customers will be able to pre-order Vision Pro starting from Friday, January 19, at 5 a.m. PST. Sales will begin two weeks later on Friday, February 2 on Apple.com and all Apple Store locations in the United States.
