Apple Vision Pro has captured the attention of tech enthusiasts, with speculation swirling about potential new models. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, recent reports suggesting a relatively soon release date for both a lower-cost, feature-reduced version and a high-end upgrade appear inaccurate based on available information.

Instead, Apple’s focus seems to have shifted towards optimizing production and supply chain management for the existing Vision Pro model. This is evidenced by their upcoming project, expected to enter mass production in late 2025 or early 2026, with Foxconn leading the new product introduction (NPI) process.

In the meantime, Apple is actively collecting user feedback to inform their future Vision Pro product roadmap. While details are unconfirmed, estimates suggest models featuring significant hardware changes might not enter mass production until 2027. This would represent a three-year gap between first and second-generation models, which would be a significant timeframe by Apple’s standards.

This project prioritizes streamlining production processes and improving supply chain efficiency, rather than introducing entirely new models with significant hardware revisions. While specifics remain undisclosed, Kuo predicts that this initiative is expected to have minimal impact on the user experience compared to the current Vision Pro iteration.

This shift in focus suggests potential cost reductions without compromising performance or functionality. However, it doesn’t signal a complete halt in Vision Pro advancements.
