Apple Vision Pro shipment will likely beat the company’s original estimates this year following early strong adoption from users in the United States, according to new research shared by esteemed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
In a new Medium post today, Kuo analyzes Vision Pro’s availability and sales performance so far. The analyst claims that Vision Pro is on track to beat Apple’s original estimates of shipping 150,000 to 200,000 units in the US alone. The company internally predicts the headset will ship around 200,000 to 250,000 units in the US in 2024 following a strong pre-orders performance, even if current demand may have taken a dip.
Production capacity from several supply chain partners for the headset is also set to expand, Kuo adds. Vision Pro’s 2024 production capacity has reportedly ramped up from 500,000 – 600,000 units to 700,000 – 800,000 units. As actual shipment figures usually lag behind production capacity, Kuo expects Apple to sell up to 700,000 headset units worldwide, up from the previously estimated figure of 500,000 units.

Apple instructed its partners to expand their capacity in a bid to reduce shipping times when Vision Pro eventually launches in international markets, something that Kuo reiterates will happen before WWDC 2024 in June. Earlier reports pegged China, Canada, and the United Kingdom as serious candidates for the first countries to receive Vision Pro beyond American soil.
