Apple today began distributing the fourth beta for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to registered developers. iOS 18 beta 4 comes two weeks after the company issued the third beta to developers on Monday, July 8.
Version Number: iOS 18 Beta 4
Build Number: 220287A
Release Date: July 23, 2024
What's New? lots of new stuff
In iOS 18 beta 2, Apple enabled new features coming to the iPhone later this year like iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay screen sharing. iPhone Mirroring allows iPhone users to control and navigate their display and receive its notifications through the Mac. SharePlay screen sharing now includes tapping and drawing on the other party’s screen for instructions and remotely taking control of others’ devices.
It remains to be seen if Apple Intelligence is enabled in iOS 18 beta 4, as the company promised its suite of AI features should be available in a later iOS 18 beta build during the summer. However, some Apple Intelligence features, like the all-new Siri, are not scheduled to appear until a future iOS 18 beta in January 2025.

How to install iOS 18 beta 4
Last year, Apple introduced a new method to install betas. Now, devices enrolled with a linked Apple Developer Program account or those who signed up with their Apple ID on Apple Developer will see a new menu under Settings -> General -> Software Update that allows users to opt into receiving beta updates. Devices that aren’t enrolled and linked to an Apple Developer account won’t see the menu and therefore aren’t able to install any new beta.
We will keep this article updated with any additional changes that we find in the fourth beta of iOS 18, including references to new features or unreleased products.
