The interest in developing applications for the Apple Vision Pro headset isn’t gaining much traction from the developer community, according to recent information from Mark Gurman.
The journalist, according to his sources, claims that the sessions created by Apple to develop and test applications for the Apple Vision Pro are “under-filled with small amounts of developers.”
The developers expressed the main issue lies in the fact that Apple is only offering sessions in Cupertino, California, making attendance especially challenging for developers located on the East Coast of the United States, according to Gurman.

Apple started these labs shortly after announcing the Vision Pro at its WWDC 2023 event. The labs are focused on allowing developers to test and optimize their apps for the mixed-reality headset before its market release next year. The labs are available in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore, and Tokyo.
“With support from Apple, you’ll be able to test and optimize your apps and games so they’ll be ready for the infinite spatial canvas,” says the iPhone manufacturer to describe these sessions. “In these self-directed coding and design labs, you’ll be able to test and optimize your apps on visionOS. Bring your Mac, code, and everything you need to modify, build, run, and test your app on Vision Pro. Apple experts will be available to help you with setup and troubleshooting.”
Apple’s Vision Pro will arrive exclusively in the US market in early 2024 without an official date but with a confirmed price of $3,499. Interested developers can already download the SDK to start creating applications, and if they wish, they can apply to attend one of these sessions with Apple experts.
