Apple Music Classical will soon be available in more countries by the end of January. The company announced the expansion plan in a new post on X, with pre-ordering available now through the App Store.
The new countries to receive the streaming service include Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. With this expansion, the classical music streaming app will be available everywhere Apple Music is with the exception of Russia and Türkiye.
Apple Music Classical is dedicated to classical music and is available free of charge on top of existing Apple Music and Apple One subscriptions. The app allows users to search their music by classical-specific metadata such as composer, work, conductor, and catalog number. Users will get to enjoy their classical tunes in high-quality audio of up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless, with thousands of recordings additionally available in spatial audio.

The app features a stripped-down design based on its parent Music app complimented with Apple-commissioned digital portraits of history’s most renowned composers. The app also offers expansive editorial notes highlighting composers and their respective key works.
Apple Music Classical is based on the now-discontinued Primephonic platform which Apple acquired back in August 2021. The app first launched on the iPhone before later expanding to Android and finally iPad.
