Details of next year’s iPhone 17 lineup, including the all-new iPhone 17 ‘Slim’ model, have been revealed in a new leak courtesy of “Ice Universe” on Weibo.
The leaker claims to have obtained numerous details regarding the iPhone 17 lineup, including new display sizes and technologies, camera specs, and more. To start, it seems certain that Apple will get rid of the iPhone Plus in favor of the new high-end iPhone 17 Slim, which the leaker claims will be priced at $1,299. As some previous rumors have stated, the iPhone 17 Slim will come in a new display size between the Pro and Pro Max models.
Ice Universe claims the iPhone 17 Slim will feature a 6.65-inch LTPO OLED panel, slightly bigger than the rumored 6.55-inch size in recent months. The base iPhone 17 model will feature an LTPO OLED screen for the first time measuring 6.27-inch, with the inclusion of LTPO potentially allowing for a 120Hz refresh rate and ProMotion for the first time on a non-Pro iPhone.

The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the first to feature three 48-megapixel cameras on the back, which is consistent with what Ming-Chi Kuo stated last week. Surprisingly, the high-end iPhone 17 Slim might only launch with two rear cameras, with Ice Universe declining to reveal their maximum resolution.
On the processor side, Apple is preparing two variants of the A19 chip. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a higher-end “A19 Pro” chip based on TSMC’s third-generation 3-nanometer process, also known as N3P. The base iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim will feature a lower-end A19 version built on an earlier 3nm process. To go along with the new chip, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with 12GB of RAM, while the base model and iPhone 17 Slim will be limited to 8GB.
Interestingly, today’s leak suggests the iPhone 17 Slim will somehow feature inferior specs compared to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max despite being placed as the new highest-end model. Details surrounding the iPhone 17 Slim’s specs may be inaccurate for the time being as the device is over 14 months away from being revealed. Apple is also said to be considering multiple designs and configurations for the device, which could explain the current disparity between its rumored and final specs.
