Apple today launched the first iOS 18.1 beta, enabling developers to test out Apple Intelligence features before an eventual launch in October. However, not all Apple Intelligence features are available for testing now, with only a few set to launch as part of the iOS 18.1 update.
As of today, a few Apple Intelligence features are available to test on the iOS 18.1 beta after signing up to an access waitlist through the Settings app. Available features include:
- Writing Tools
- New Siri UI
- Type to Siri
- Text and audio transcription and summarization
- Reduce Interruptions Focus mode
- Smart Reply in Mail and Messages
- Summarized notifications
- Natural language search in the Photos app
On the other hand, a few Apple Intelligence features are yet to be available on the first iOS 18.1 beta, including:

It’s unclear when the unavailable capabilities will launch, but some features, like the all-new Siri, are still scheduled to be released by early 2025. Nevertheless, it will take Apple several updates to iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia, spanning late 2024 and the first half of 2025, to fully launch the complete set of AI features announced during WWDC 2024.
