Apple plans to upgrade the iPad mini and other iPad models soon, but the refreshed devices won’t appear at the “It’s Glowtime” iPhone 16 event. Instead, it will be announced in October with new M4 Mac models, reports Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman.
In a new report detailing what to expect from Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event on Monday, Gurman outlines some expectations for other products the company will announce beyond this keynote. One of these are refreshed iPad models that include a new iPad mini. While details remain slim, the report mentions that the new iPad mini will launch in October in another event when Apple plans to unveil the first few Macs with the M4 chip.
The new iPad mini isn’t expected to carry significant changes, save for a new chip to replace the aging A15 Bionic processor. Other changes on the card could include upgraded cameras, refreshed color options, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, and support for the Apple Pencil Pro. The entry-level iPad could also be in tow for a hardware upgrade after Apple slashed its price from $449 to $349 earlier this year.
